Celebrate Black History Month at the Zoo! Join us for fun craft making, educational activities, and community vendors inside the Penguin Education Center.
This event is free with Zoo admission or membership.


What to expect:
- 10:00 am – 3:30 pm: Kids craft station, Exploration Stations, and face painting
- 11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Story time
- 12:00 pm (Saturday, February 14): Join Grammy-nominated children’s entertainer, author, and educator, Culture Queen, for a fun and interactive Black History Month program
- 12:00 pm (Saturday, February 14): Reveal of the second LEGO tier of the Zoo’s 150th Anniversary cake. We’ve teamed up with Charm City LUG to create a “Build Towards 150” cake made entirely out of LEGO. Visit each month to reveal another tier of the cake, culminating with our big birthday bash on April 7, 2026.
- 12:00 pm (Sunday, February 15): Musical performance by a Coppin State University Gospel Choir student.
