Buy TicketsJoin us for a Summer Solstice Stroll celebrating the longest day of the year and World Giraffe Day! Begin your adventure with an exclusive giraffe experience and an engaging keeper chat. Learn about the special adaptations of the tallest animals on the planet including why they have purple tongues. Afterwards, enjoy a refreshing treat of purple popsicles! Round out the evening with a guided tour by the Zoo’s naturalist and educator, including activities that explore what animals do on a long summer’s night.

This event welcomes participants of all ages, with activities tailored for ages 6 and up.
Tickets:
- Zoo member: $40
- Non-members: $50
- Scouts: $45
All ages are welcome to attend the program, but please be aware that all interactive games and activities are created for ages 6 and up. The listed cost remains the same for all in attendance at this program. Participants 16 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There is a maximum number of 35 participants for Twilight Stroll.

Who is invited to Twilight Stroll?
- Guests of all ages are invited. Educational programs are designed for children 6 and older.
What will we do during a Summer Solstice Stroll?
- Participants will tour the Zoo from a whole new perspective. Begin your adventure with the Panamanian golden frog and learn about how the Maryland Zoo is helping these frogs from becoming extinct! Learn about where they live and why rainforest habitats are so important. Round out the evening with a guided tour by the Zoo’s naturalist and educator, including activities that explore other animals that live in the rainforests of the world!
How much does a Summer Solstice Stroll cost?
- Members, $40 per person; Non-members, $50 per person. Payment is due at the time of registration. Summer Solstice Stroll is not exclusive to one group and the zoo may book multiple groups in one night. All participants must be pre-registered prior to the program. Parents/guardians must accompany participants throughout the program experience. Participants must not exceed a 3:1 ratio of children to adults.
What do I need to bring with me for the Solstice Stroll?
- Refillable water bottles are encouraged and can be refilled throughout the program.
- Weather appropriate clothing and comfortable closed shoes are also recommended
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
- The Zoo has the right to cancel the Twilight Stroll in the event of inclement weather. Participants will be notified the morning of the Twilight Stroll as to whether or not the stroll will continue. Participants will receive a full refund should the Zoo have to cancel.
How can I sign up for a Twilight Stroll?
- Spacing is limited and reservations are required. Participants can sign up and pay online by clicking on the link below and filling out all the required information.
What is the cancellation policy?
- Full refunds will only be given with notice on or before two weeks before the Twilight Stroll program is scheduled to take place. Cancellation notice given after this date will not receive a refund.
Can we walk through Spring Illuminations?
- No, the Summer Solstice Stroll does not go through Spring Illuminations. However, if you’d like to extend your evening, you can purchase tickets for Spring Illuminations online or at the gate. After the Stroll, exit the event and drive to the Zoo’s main entrance. Park and enter through the main gate to enjoy Spring Illuminations.
