Elephant stretchesWhat animal has the largest brains in the animal kingdom, live about as long as humans, and can weigh up to 15,000 lbs? Elephants, of course! Please join us on August 19th to learn about challenges that elephants face in the wild and what you can do to help the Earth’s largest land mammal!  Bring all your elephant questions and talk to our Zoo experts about the daily care they provide for the elephants here at the Zoo.


Schedule of events:

10:00 am – 3:30 pm – Education stations throughout the Zoo

11:00 am – 11:15 Elephant Simon Says (Winner receives elephant created artwork!)

11:15 am – 11:30 am– Puppet show at Oasis Stage

12:00 – 12:15 Elephant Watermelon Smash*

1:30 – 1:45 Meet an Elephant Keeper

2:00 – 2:30 Elephant Bath and Training Demonstration

-All activities will take place at the Elephant Exhibit in African Journey unless otherwise noted.-
