The Zoo has quite an exciting Saturday coming up! There are two events happening at the Zoo: the Baltimore Marathon and OktoBEARfest. As busy a day it will be, please note these events will not disrupt the regular Zoo hours or your plans for a Zoo visit.

The Baltimore Marathon runners will reach the Zoo at the three-mile mark, passing by Penguin Coast and exiting through Druid Hill Park. The Marathon begins at 7 a.m., so the Zoo will be clear of runners well before it opens at 10 a.m. Traffic in and out of the Zoo will not be affected during normal hours. For more information about road closures affecting downtown city traffic and routes affected by the running festival click here.

OktoBEARfest begins at noon and ends at 4 p.m. While this event takes place during Zoo hours, it will not be held in public exhibit space, rather at the Waterfowl Lake Pavilion, which is located near the main gate. For those attending the event, remember that tickets include an all-day admission to the Zoo, so feel free to check out some exhibits between your brew sampling! There is also a free shuttle service that runs from Baltimore’s Penn Station between 11a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
