Beginning Monday, October 28, 2013, the Zoo’s rhinos, zebra and ostriches will be off exhibit until the second week in November due to ongoing construction work. A new water/sewer line is being laid through this exhibit to bring improved service to various parts of the Zoo, including the new African penguin exhibit. Due to these special circumstances, other animals in the African Watering Hole may also be kept inside their barns off and on during this two week period. We apologize if any of your favorite animals are off exhibit during your planned visit.
To protect them from avian influenza, penguins and other bird species have been moved indoors.
