This Tuesday … LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!

We hope you’ll join us at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore for a very special Beat the Heat Tuesday, this August 23rd. In addition to our 25% off admission discount and free frozen treats, guests can be part of a unique summer snow day in honor of our arctic ambassadors, the polar bears!

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is giving the polar bears a snow day in August, courtesy of Baltimore City Recreation and Parks and the Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena. The Zamboni shavings from Monday, Aug. 22 and the early morning shaving on Tuesday, Aug. 23 will be picked up and brought to the Zoo by Zoo staff. Approximately 2000 pounds of ice shavings will be placed in the polar bear exhibit and at 10:30 a.m., the bears will come out to see a little winter wonderland in their exhibit.

Everyone is invited to see this fun example of “cool” summertime enrichment for the bears!
