The Great Zoo Chew: Every Bite Counts!
Did you know that the Maryland Zoo prepares more than 100 diets every single day? From leaf-loving giraffes to fish-feasting penguins, every animal has a favorite treat—and our dedicated Commissary Team makes sure each bite is just right.
This Giving Tuesday, join us for The Great Zoo Chew, a celebration of the Zoo’s many eaters and the people who keep them happy, healthy, and well-fed. Your donation directly supports the purchase of fresh produce, sustainably sourced meat and fish, grains, insects, and specialized supplements, all tailored to the nutritional needs of more than 130 species who call our Zoo home.
Caring for this diverse menu is no small task—it costs more than $1.2 million each year to feed and nourish the entire herd. With your help, we can make sure every giraffe nibble, penguin gulp, and leopard crunch continues without interruption. Please make your Giving Tuesday gift today—because when it comes to feeding the Zoo, every bite counts!

Can I do more?
Making a gift is the most important contribution you can make, but there are other ways to help too… spread the word! Everyone loves animals, so tell your friends about the conservation work the Zoo is doing and encourage them to give today.
