The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is excited to introduce a new event to its calendar, “Que at the Zoo,” a nine hour music festival featuring a line up of the regions top artists. During the festivities, Baltimore’s wildest BBQ contest will take place. Que at the Zoo brings together music, food and fun on Saturday, September 10 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Zoo’s Waterfowl Lake Pavilion area.
First, the tunes — the event will feature live performances from home town heroes The Bridge, People’s Blues of Richmond, ELM — Electric Love Machine, Bunk Buddha, and favorites Brooks Long & The Mad Dog No Good. A second stage, “DJs from Aya,” will feature the legendary DJ OSCAR G, flying in from Miami for his only area performance, as well as a supporting cast of local favorites including Shawn Q + DJ WHO, DELTAnine, James Nasty, Graham Hatke and Ypset.
The “Que” will also be on stage as Baltimore’s top BBQ creators will be showcasing their wares and competing for top honors from the crowd of judges. Attendees can purchase a “Judge’s Ticket” allowing them to sample plates from each contestant, and giving them the ability to vote on Baltimore’s top ribs, pulled pork and chicken. The “Que” will hail from local restaurants including The Smoking Swine, Blue Pit, Koco (Korean BBQ), Jurrasic Pork, Kommie Pig, Smoke, The BBQ Joint and more!
