To make way for an exciting renovation project coming soon, the Chimpanzee Forest building will be closed Wed 9/18 – Fri 9/20 and Mon 9/23 – Fri 9/27. While the chimpanzee troop will still be viewable outside daily, baby chimpanzee Lola and mom bunny and will not be on exhibit during this time. Viewing of the other species inside the Chimp Forest – Panamanian golden frogs, colobus monkeys, Sifaka lemurs, and slender-snouted crocs – will also be affected.
Join us for a 90-minute photo safari: kids only! Aspiring wildlife photographers ages 8-14 will receive an educational Zoo tour, learning the basic skills and special tricks needed to capture stunning shots of animals. All experience levels are welcome as we explore the biodiversity of the animal kingdom through the lens of a camera.
This program starts with a brief introduction by a Zoo educator on taking wildlife photos and then moves on-grounds at the Zoo where participants will test their newly honed skills. The workshop will conclude with a photo shoot featuring one of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. This workshop will be offered four times and each workshop will focus on a different topic.
