Strollers and wheelchairs are available for a nominal fee. Please inquire at Wild Things Gift shop upon entering the Zoo.

Food/Refreshments

Food and refreshment services are provided by Aramark services throughout the Zoo. Vending machines are also provided in several locations throughout the Zoo. A portion of all sales directly benefits The Maryland Zoo’s conservation and education programs. Cash only at our concessions please.

Explorer’s Cantina at the Village Green

Plush animals, toys, apparel, gifts, books and more - all with a wildlife conservation theme. You may inquire at the gift shop for stroller and wheelchair rentals. $

Carousel ($)
Experience the fun of a real old-fashioned carousel ride! Children of all ages will enjoy this famous classic.
   
Climbing Wall ($)
Challenge gravity as you climb 25 feet on our vertical rock wall.
   
  Hay Ride
Come and hop aboard a good ol' fashioned hayride through the scenic back woods of the Maryland Zoo. This is a family favorite for all ages!
   
Ride a Camel
See what its like to stand eye to eye with a Giraffe in the new Maryland Zoo Giraffe Feeding Plaza. Over the past year we’ve been hard at work building an awesome plaza that gives guests a on-of-a-kind experience. So bring your entire family and experience the Maryland Zoo giraffes like never before.

Beginning Saturday May 10, 2008 the Giraffe Feeding Plaza will be open everyday from 10:30am until 3:00pm. For $2.00 you will get to feed the giraffes a leafy branch of browse.

   
Feed a Giraffe
The camels are returning to the Maryland Zoo this summer and now is your chance to ride one.  Starting May 3, 2008 you will have the chance to get on the back of one of these desert creatures. Rides are $4 per person.

Tram Services
Climb aboard our trams and be transported to the center of the Zoo to begin your journey.

Restrooms
Restrooms are handicapped accessible, equipped with changing stations and available in several locations throughout the Zoo.

Public Telephones

Pay telephones are located at the Oasis restroom and Village Green.


ATM
Located near the Explorer’s Cantina at the Village Green

Picnic Tables/Eating Areas
Relax at one of the several eating areas located throughout the Zoo or find a quiet spot to picnic with your family. The Zoo offers plenty of space to experience the best of your visit – including scenic picnic areas by Waterfowl Lake. (occasionally closed for private events).

  First Aid is provided by Zoo Security. If you require assistance, please ask a Zoo employee to notify Security
