Support the Zoo

Legacy Society

In 2012, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore established The Maryland Zoo Legacy Society to recognize those friends of the Zoo who have notified us that they have named The Maryland Zoo to receive their legacy gift.

These gifts might be bequests (giving property or cash to the Zoo through your will).  A legacy gift can also be a distribution from a living trust or retirement plan, a charitable gift annuity, or a gift of life insurance.

The generosity and foresight of these wonderful friends allows the Zoo to better prepare for its future and to secure the long tradition of excellence in animal care, education, and conservation for which it is known.

We hope you will tell us if you have made arrangements to create a legacy gift to The Maryland Zoo.  We’d like to be able to thank and recognize you right now for your wonderful generosity and thoughtfulness.

With your permission, we’d also like to recognize your gift through membership in our prestigious Legacy Society, the distinguished group of Zoo lovers who have generously made legacy gifts to The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.

Your willingness to be listed as a member of our Legacy Society encourages others to follow your example, which is another way you can help your Zoo.

As a member of The Maryland Zoo Legacy Society, you will be acknowledged every year in the Zoo’s Annual Report.  You’ll also receive invitations to special events throughout the year.  The most important benefit you’ll receive, though, is the satisfaction you’ll get from ensuring the long-term stability of The Maryland Zoo you love.
