Happy Holidays! Thank you so much for your support of The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. By supporting such programs as Adopt an Animal and Zoo Membership, you help give to the Zoo. Adoptions and Memberships make great gifts!
If you would like to order an adoption or membership as a gift, Friday, December 18th is the last day the Zoo may guarantee Christmas delivery. Any and all orders placed after that date may not arrive in time for the holidays.

Why ADOPT an animal?
It’s a unique way to help The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore in its wildlife conservation efforts and a fun way to create a special bond with the Zoo. Your contribution goes directly to our animal care costs, and you will be able to see you’re the results of your efforts in motion the next time you visit the Zoo.

Adopting an animal from The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is a very special way to contribute to your Zoo and help share the care of an animal resident. This winter give a unique gift by sponsoring a Polar Bear, African Elephant, Prairie Dog or Penguin from The Maryland Zoo.
Each special Adoption Package includes a personalized adoption certificate, a plush, animal fun fact sheet and an animal photograph. |
As an adopter, you will also receive the following benefits throughout the year:
- An invitation for two to the Adopters Recognition Day held each spring!
- Your name proudly displayed on the recognition page found online at The Maryland Zoo’s website
- PLUS, as a Zoo Parent, you will have the pride of being an animal supporter and knowing your donation goes directly toward the care costs associated with a Maryland Zoo animal resident
NOTE: If your ADOPT is a gift please enter the following information in the notes field at time of checkout.
- The recipient's name
- The recipients address
- The message to be placed on the gift card.
- Whether initial adoption package will be sent to gift giver or gift recipient.
You may aid any and all of the animals that reside at The Maryland Zoo by giving a charitable gift to the Adopt an Animal program. Currently, the Zoo is featuring special adoption packages for the elephants, polar bears and penguins, but all of The Maryland Zoo animals are available for adoption. With the choice of any other Zoo resident, you will receive an official adoption certificate, picture of your animal and thank you letter from the Zoo. (Please note: we do not have plushes for any animals other than the polar bear, penguin, and elephant). Watch for our featured seasonal animal adoption packages throughout the year.
