Come and join the Zoo in bringing awareness to the endangered species exhibited on grounds, learn about how important zoos are in helping endangered species and have a chat with some of the animal keepers about the Zoo’s ongoing conservation efforts.

  • 10:30-12:00  – Meet endangered species Animal Ambassadors at Creature Encounters
  • 11:30- 12:00 – Puppet Show at Creature Encounters
  • 12:30-2:00  – Rainforest Action Network Palm Oil Information Station
  • 12:30-2:00  – Baltimore County Recreation and Parks Checkerspot Butterfly Project at Creature Encounters
  • 12:30-2:00  – Meet endangered species Animal Ambassadors at Creature Encounters

Keeper Chats:

Keepers will focus their chats on the status of each of these species in the wild, the major threats they face, and conservation efforts.  Keepers will also have sticker giveaways at each chat.

  • 10:00-3:00 – Chinese alligator, penguin, Egyptian tortoise, Diamondback terrapin at Carousel area
  • 10:30 – Serval training demonstration at yard near top Shuttle Stop
  • 11:00 – Polar Bear at Polar Bear Watch
  • 11:30 – Panamanian Golden Frogs inside Chimp Forest
  • 12:00 – Cheetah on African Boardwalk
  • 1:00 – Rhino at watering hole
  • 1:30 – Leopard on African Boardwalk
  • 2:00 – Okapi outside Giraffe Hous
  • 2:30 – Chimp at Chimp Forest
  • 3:00 – Sifaka inside Chimp Forest
  • 3:30 – Penguin at Rock Island
