Oktobearfest Comes to The Maryland Zoo

Fall beer festival to be held in conjunction with Baltimore Beer Week
BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is excited to announce “OktoBEARfest,” a Fall beer festival to be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, in conjunction with Baltimore Beer Week. The event runs from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Zoo’s Waterfowl Lake Pavilion area and will feature a host of seasonal ales, Oktoberfest inspired foods and live music.
Beers to be poured include, but are not limited to: Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Angry Orchard Cider, Blue Moon Pumpkin, Leinenkugel Oktoberfest, DuClaw 31, DuClaw Mad Bishop Oktoberfest, Flying Dog Dogtoberfest, Flying Dog The Fear Imperial Pumpkin, Tommy Knocker Pumpkin, Harpoon Oktoberfest, Harpoon UFO Pumpkin, Shiner Oktoberfest, Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale, Spaten Oktoberfest, HofBrau Oktoberfest, Hop City Barking Squirrel, and Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat. Performing live at Waterfowl Lake during OktoBEARfest is John Stevens’ Doubleshot, an energetic Polka band from Eastern Pennsylvania, and The Junkyard Saints, the Baltimore-based band which performs its own brand of roots party music, blending New Orleans rhythm and blues, zydeco, Latin, ska, and jump blues.
Tickets are $40 for those 21 and over, and $20 for guests 2-20 years of age. Zoo members receive a discount of $10 per ticket at checkout. Ticket price includes unlimited sampling, a commemorative glass (for those 21 and over), admission to the Zoo, and access to food and artisan vendors.
