WILD Weed Out Event

TIME: 9:00am- 12:00pm

Looking for a fun volunteer opportunity? On Thursday, September 23, volunteers will assist our Horticulture Department on their “crew day” working together to clear out a specific area of the zoo of weeds and invasive plants.

The morning will involve a bit of physical work- weeding, pruning and hauling so volunteers are asked to come prepared in comfortable “get-dirty” clothes, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and a refillable water bottle.

Hats and sunscreen are also suggested. Gloves and any needed tools will be supplied for use during the morning as we do battle against these invaders! No prior experience or training is needed, just a willingness to get down and get dirty. Free event for adults 18 years of age and older.

The Zoo is amazingly beautiful and our Horticulture Department is a fabulously fun team to work with so it will be a great event. If this sounds like a fun morning of volunteering, please reply to Kristi.giles@marylandzoo.org to register for this event. Spaces are limited.
